I need to write one! I am not starting with a leg-up this year. I have several choices but I think I'll be going with one of the titles I've been tossing around a bit longer. But the Unseelie magecrafters work to beat the guilds to new-found Fountains, or to break the Bond to twist the Fountains into seats of power for themselves. Heidi has spent her life protecting her autistic brother as they navigated the foster care system. Now, she is seeing things - strange buildings that no one else can see, and strange women with powerful auras. It turns out that Heidi and her brother are Magecrafters: fae-blood humans with magical powers. They must learn to tap into their newfound talents, or the bad guys might get their claws into a major power source, killing an entire family in the process. She fights her way to the capitol and into the palace only to learn that she was the decoy. The real heir shows up and is an idiot. The council of lords decides to make the first girl the queen and kill the true heir to cover it up. Now MC must protect the true heir from those who would prefer her. The Second Princess - As the second princess born of her generation, Tasia has a specific destiny that will only come to pass if she undergoes the ritual to find her mated soul. But she has a different destiny in mind, and she puts the destinies of all her sisters and her kingdom at risk to find a way to break the curse. Tasia is about to learn that in the real world, things aren't always what they seem. Obsidian Winds - The world has been destroyed by magic. Now magic runs wild. Spells have turned the parts of the land into death traps, and magical creatures, coveted for their use in spells, have been hunted to near extinction. Pockets of underground plasma pools wait below thin layers of rock, and multicolored tornados spring up creating chaos. Some mages created forms of biowarfare, using magical "vivicitude", surgical alterations, on microscopic and disease-carrying creatures. These creatures have infected nearly half the population with a variety of diseases and viruses. Some kill, some change, but a few have unknown effects. Fearing them, people discovered to have these infections are quarantined into grottos, by disease. When Sable's family (mother, brother, baby sister) are found to carry the virus VD, they are unceremoniously deposited in the VoiD grotto. For Sable, it's the same stuff, different day. For everyone else, the world will never be the same.

Lana frowned, sure that the thoughts running through her head must be wrong. "A warrior, maybe? My aunt..." The Queen shook her head, cutting off Lana's grasping. "No." Her eyes bore into Lana's. "It must be you. You are the one I trust, the only one I trust." Lana shook her head reflexively. "Oh, your Majesty, no! I'm no assassin, no guardsman. I've never even been outside the city more than twice. And both of those times were in your entourage! I have no experience, no skills in negotiating the world. I would not be a good choice..." "The. Only. One." Isidra's clipped words filled Lana's gut with ice. "You have the skills I want, which are not necessarily the ones that are expected." The woman Lana had known for her whole life was gone. The nurse now faced Queen Isidra the third, Matriarch of Alfeari, Protector of the Coral Isles, Guardian of the Far Reaches, Overseer of the Shang Wilderness. Nearly tangible power whirled around the royal made flesh, a product of charisma and authority rather than of the Chi and Flows of Monks and Witches. Lana gulped, her throat suddenly, painfully dry. She tried to respond but only produced a weak hiss. Instead, she finally nodded.
